“My birthday is on Boxing Day and now that I’m getting older I’ve that my family are trying to do birthday and Christmas gifts together! They’re not slick!”

What kind of actor do you aspire to be?

I would love to be an actor that isn’t afraid to take risks but in the most safe way possible and I want people to see that I have the ability to play different characters.

What performance piece did you choose for the showcase and why?

I chose a monologue from Chewing Gum Dreams, I really wanted to do a comedy piece and I was finding it difficult to find a comedic monologue for woman of colour! So when I found the monologue I just said to myself it’s meant to be!

What book, theatre, film or TV production has most inspired you?

I’ve watched all 6 seasons of ‘How to get away with murder’ in a week! I’m obsessed with Viola Davis, not only in HTGAWM but other films she’s been in! She has this ability to literally morph into whatever character she’s playing and THAT is something that inspires me!

How have you been keeping creative during lockdown?

During lockdown we did have online classes and our head of year was trying to keep the classes fun and active! I’ve also been reading a lot more plays!

What advice would you give for anyone else preparing for a showcase?

Take it serious (not that I haven’t been) but RELAX! Enjoy the experience and just be thankful that you’ve reached the top 20, no matter what the results are!

What do you hope to be doing this time next year?

I would love to be out of the country working on a production! But wherever God takes me I’ll be forever grateful.
