“I am an avid salsa dancer.”
What kind of actor do you aspire to be?
A generous actor, a reliable actor, someone you can count on.
What performance piece did you choose for the showcase and why?
I chose a piece written by my friend from my foundation course called “A Big Heart”, I chose this piece because I felt a lot of people including myself have really had to reflect during this pandemic on who they are, and the relationships they may or may not be in. It’s been a HUGE time of reflection and I felt this piece spoke to where we are in society today.
What book, theatre, film or TV production has most inspired you?
I really enjoyed watching Small Axe every week, the show inspired me to look deeper into my own personal history and other black British figures.
How have you been keeping creative during lockdown?
I’ve began to write my own short stories and poems.
What advice would you give for anyone else preparing for a showcase?
Pick a piece that lights you up inside, a piece that you’re passionate about, and be you.
What do you hope to be doing this time next year?
This time next year I’d loved to be working with a great ensemble of actors on a piece of work we’re all deeply passionate about. Anything written by Michaela Cole or Phoebe Waller-Bridge, both great writers.
